Lamborghini India has launched the off-road-ready Huracan Sterrato at Rs 4.61 crore (ex-showroom, India), with deliveries set to begin in the third quarter of 2023. The Huracan Sterrato was unveiled in November and is limited to 1,499 units globally.

  1. Huracan Sterrato uses a 5.2-litre V10 engine
  2. Gets new Rally driving mode, recalibrated Strada and Sport modes

Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato: the upgrades

The Huracan Sterrato gets several upgrades that make it ready for off-roading. Lamborghini has increased the front and rear tracks by 30mm and 34mm, respectively, while the ground clearance has been raised by 44mm to allow for more suspension travel. It gets an aluminium front underbody protection and reinforced sills, as well as a roof-mounted air intake that allow the engine to breathe better over dusty tracks.

The Huracan Sterrato comes with an updated vehicle dynamic pack or LDVI (Lamborghini Integrated Vehicle Dynamics) that brings the new Rally mode to the supercar and has recalibrated Strada and Sport modes.

The off-road-ready supercar also gets new 19-inch alloy wheels – a size smaller than the standard Huracan – which wear custom Bridgestone Dueler AT002 tyres. The dual-purpose tyres measure 235/40-R19 at the front and 285/40-R19 at the rear, and come with run-flat technology.

Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato: performance

While it gets the same 5.2-litre, naturally aspirated V10 engine from the standard Huracan, it produces 610hp and 560Nm of torque. The Sterrato is 30hp and 40Nm down on power and torque compared to the regular Huracan. This is because the intercoolers have been repositioned from the sidepods to the top of roof, which reduces the airflow to the engine, and hence, produces less power. This, however, has been done in the interest of allowing the engine to breathe cleaner air on dusty tracks.

The engine is paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox that sends power to all four wheels through an electronically controlled all-wheel-drive system and a rear mechanical self-locking differential. Lamborghini claims the Sterrato can achieve a 0-100kph time of 3.4 seconds and get to a top speed of 260kph. The 0-100kph time is half a second slower than the Huracan AWD, while its top speed is down by 60kph.

Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato: exterior and interior

Apart from the obvious visual cue of the raised ride height, the Huracan Sterrato also gets a reinforced stone guard along with a pair of spot lamps. In profile, it gets chunky side skirts, roof rails as well as bolt-on rugged fender flares, while the back features a revised diffuser with a better departure angle.

The Huracan Sterrato was shown in a white paint scheme with green and red accents, imitating the Italian flag colours. Inside, there are not many visual upgrades, however, it gets new Alcantara Verde upholstery along with new graphics for the touchscreen.

There's special off-road features such as a digital inclinometer with pitch and roll indicator, compass, geographic coordinate indicator and steering angle indicator. The Sterrato also gets a connected telemetry system that allows the driver to monitor performance and analyse data via a mobile app.

Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato: rivals

The Huracan Sterrato sits in a very niche part of the supercar segment. Globally, it rivals the Porsche 911 Dakar, however, it won’t be coming to India as there are no allocations for it.
