Hyundai USA will sell its cars on Amazon from 2024 onwards, making the Korean company the first carmaker in the world to do so. The American online consumer giant will launch its own dedicated vehicle sales platform on the site soon.

    1. Hyundai cars to be retailed online in the USA only, for now
    2. Hyundai cars to get Amazon’s Alexa AI assistant
    3. Other carmakers likely to follow suit

Launching in the US, the platform will enable Hyundai to list and sell vehicles on amazon.com, with customers buying them almost as they would any other product on the site. In a similar vein to the brand’s online retail platform, these vehicles will be from dealer stock.

This comes as part of a new partnership between the shopping platform and the Korean carmaker, under which Amazon’s Alexa AI assistant will be installed in Hyundai models. The partnership will allow Hyundai to tap into Amazon’s massive consumer base in the USA.

Amazon says the move will eventually see other brands enter the fold, however, there is no word yet on whether it will expand the service outside of the USA, and which other brands are in line to join the platform.

    Hyundai in India

There is no news about this development for India, where Hyundai currently has 12 models in its line-up – the Grand i10 Nios, the i20 and Venue (including their sporty N Line counterparts), the Aura, Verna, Creta, Alcazar, Tucson, Kona Electric, and the Ioniq 5 EV.
