Maruti Suzuki has launched the BS6-compliant Eeco CNG. As before, the CNG model is targeted at both private and commercial buyers, with the latter getting the option to configure the model as a 5-seater (Tour V) or a cargo van.

The Eeco CNG for private buyers is priced at Rs 4.95 lakh and is available solely as a 5-seater, with the Tour V (for commercial buyers) priced around Rs 1,000 less, at Rs 4.94 lakh. As before, air-conditioning is a standard fit, as are the driver airbag, ABS, front seat belt reminders, reverse parking sensors and a speed alert system.

Commercial buyers can also opt for the Eeco CNG in cargo van configuration, with this model priced at Rs 4.64 lakh for the non-air-conditioned model and a pricier Rs 5.06 lakh for the air-conditioned unit.

The Eeco CNG is Maruti’s fourth CNG model, after the Alto, Wagon R and Ertiga, to meet the upcoming BS6 emission norms that come into effect from April 1, 2020. Maruti had upgraded the standard petrol Eeco to meet the new norms earlier this year.

Aside from the Eeco CNG, Maruti is currently preparing to launch the Dzire facelift in India in the coming days, with the carmaker also set to launch a BS6-compliant petrol S-cross as well.

Commercial dealership undergoes portfolio expansion

Maruti Suzuki has also announced that it has expanded its commercial vehicle portfolio to now include its entire range of Tour models – the Tour H1 (Alto), Tour H2 (Celerio), Tour S (second-gen Dzire compact sedan), the Tour V and Tour M (Ertiga).

Maruti’s commercial dealerships had till date retailed the Super Carry light pick-up truck and the Eeco Cargo Van.
