BMW has launched the X6 50 Jahre M Edition in India at Rs 1.11 crore (ex-showroom, India), as part of the ongoing 50th anniversary celebrations of its M division. So far, the brand has introduced eight special-edition models – the M340i, 630i M Sport, 530i M Sport, M4 Competition, X7 40i M Sport, X4 M Sport, M8 Competition, and the M5 Competition. BMW will soon be introducing the final 50 Jahre M Edition model in India.

  • Gets two optional exterior packages
  • Comes in two colour options
  • Remains mechanically unchanged

BMW X6 50 Jahre M Edition: exterior highlights

Compared to the standard X6 SUV that comes in multiple colour options, the 50 Jahre M Edition is available in only Black Sapphire Metallic and M Carbon Black Metallic shades. BMW has equipped the X6 50 Jahre M Edition with a gloss black illuminated kidney grille, 20-inch alloy wheels finished in the orbit grey colour scheme with gloss red M Sport brake callipers, and an M Sport exhaust system.

Like the previous special editions, the X6 50 Jahre M Edition also gets additional M badges (at the front, rear and on the hub caps) inspired by early BMW Motorsport race cars. The BMW logo, too, gets unique design elements, sporting semicircles in blue, violet and red colours.

BMW is also offering two optional exterior packages on the limited edition model. The first one, the Racer’s package, includes black side decals and a rear spoiler, while the Motorsports package offers wing mirrors finished in carbon fibre and an alcantara-finished key fob.

BMW X6 Jahre M Edition: interior, powertrain details

The interior layout of the X6 50 Jahre M Edition remains largely similar to the standard car, featuring powered sports seats finished in leather upholstery with red stitching and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. BMW has also equipped the special-edition X6 with heated and cooled cup holders, wireless charging, ambient lighting and an automatic tailgate. Its other feature highlights include the 12.3-inch digital driver’s display and infotainment system, Harman Kardon sound system and wireless Apple CarPlay.

The X6 50 Jahre M Edition remains mechanically identical to the standard car and shares the xDrive40i's powertrain. The 3.0-litre, six-cylinder turbo petrol engine puts out 340hp and 450Nm of torque, while being paired to an 8-speed torque converter automatic. This allows the special-edition X6 to accelerate from 0-100kph in just 5.5sec.
