BMW has officially revealed the M3 Touring racer (24H) prior to its debut at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring 2026, set to begin towards the end of March. The German automaker had released photos of an “in-development” M3 Touring racer on social media back in April 1, 2025. Noticing the reception for this yet-to-be-real model, plans to concretise the model were made in the summer of 2025, making it a reality in a span of about 8 months, claims BMW.

Will compete in the SPX class with four BMW M works drivers.

The BMW M3 Touring 24H will make its racing debut in the second round of the 2026 Nurburgring Langstrecken Serie (NLS), which is scheduled for the next weekend. The only scheduled station wagon (estate) body style listed for this year’s Nurburgring, the M3 Touring 24H will race for the Schubert Motorsport team. Piloting the M3 Touring 24H in the SPX class will be BMW M works drivers Jens Klingmann, Ugo de Wilde, Connor De Phillippi and Neil Verhagen.
BMW M3 Touring 24H design and powertrain
Styling based on the road-going M3 Touring; powertrain from the M4 GT3 EVO.

Compared to the standard M3 Touring, this race-spec M3 Touring 24H is 200mm longer while also being 32mm higher than the M4 GT3 EVO. The exterior of the M3 Touring 24H currently wears a mostly black colour scheme with a generous spattering of social-media comments from enthusiasts and fans received when it was first unveiled as an April Fool’s Joke last year. However, the car will enter the Nurburgring wearing a different livery. Apart from the illuminated kidney grille, there are plenty of large carbon-fibre bits including the front splitter, rear wing and bumper. The 18-inch wheels, sporting red and blue accents, feature bespoke Yokohama tyres.

Power comes from a 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six engine that is shared with the M4 GT3 EVO, where it produces up to 590hp. A 6-speed sequential gearbox handles transmission duties, while the power from the engine is sent to the rear wheels. Braking is provided by 390mm front discs with six-piston calipers and 380mm rear discs with four-piston calipers. However, BMW is yet to disclose performance figures of the M3 Touring 24H.

Speaking about this M3 Touring racer was Andreas Roos, head of BMW M Motorsport. He said, A project like the BMW M3 Touring 24H has never existed at BMW M Motorsport before. Many thanks to everyone who put their heart and soul into this unique car and brought it to life. I am thrilled, and at the same time, I am certain that our fans – who are never closer to us than at our second home on the Nürburgring – will be just as excited.”
