The Scorpio N gets the 2.0-litre, turbo-petrol engine that produces 203hp and 370Nm via a 6-speed manual transmission. However, the engine produces 10Nm of extra torque when paired to the 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission that’s only offered on Z4, Z8 and Z8L variants. Mahindra offers the petrol powertrain as standard across the variants in a 2WD format. However, there is no 4WD option with the petrol range.

    2022 Mahindra Scorpio N: diesel variants break-up

Mahindra offers the 2.2-litre, mHawk diesel powertrain on the Scorpio N in two states of tune. The base Z2 and the Z4 variants feature the engine in a lower state of tune, producing 130hp and 300Nm via a 6-speed manual transmission. The Z4, Z6, Z8, and Z8L variants meanwhile are powered by the higher-spec engine with three drive modes – Zip, Zap, and Zoom.

In both manual and automatic transmissions, the engine puts out 138hp in Zip mode, whereas in Zap and Zoom, it produces 175hp. Meanwhile, it produces 370Nm with the 6-speed manual and 400Nm via the 6-speed torque converter automatic. Unlike the petrol-powered version, the brand offers 4WD with terrain modes on all diesel-manual variants.
