2021 World Car Awards top three finalists announced

    Winners of each of the listed categories as well as the winner of the World Person of the Year award will be announced on April 20, 2021.

    2021 World Car Awards top three finalists announced

    The 2021 World Car Awards (WCA) has just announced the top three finalists for each of its five categories. This has been whittled down from the full list of 2021 WCA finalists that was announced in early March.

    • Honda e, Toyota Yaris and Volkswagen ID.4 are top three WCOTY finalists
    • Winner for all categories will be announced on April 20, 2021
    • The 2022 WCA will get a new category – World Electric Vehicle of the Year

    These top three finalists have, as before, been picked by a jury of 93 international automotive journalists via a secret ballot vote system. Hormazd Sorabjee – editor Autocar India, and Renuka Kirpalani, executive editor, the Autocar Show, are among the WCA jurors.

    We have listed the top-three finalists from each of the 2021 WCA categories below.

    2021 World Car of the Year (WCOTY):

    2021 World Luxury Car of The Year:

    2021 World Performance Car of The Year:

    2021 World Car Design of The Year:

    • Honda e
    • Land Rover Defender
    • Mazda MX30

    2021 World Car Award: winners’ announcement

    The WCA will announce the winners of each of the above listed categories as well as the World Person of the Year on April 20, 2021.

    2022 World Car Award season

    The 2022 season will begin with ‘The Road to the World Car Awards’, which will kick-off on August 19, 2021 at the New York show. As we had previously reported, next year’s award season will get a new award category in the form of the World Electric Vehicle of the Year award. This addition to the current WCA categories will mean that the 2022 season will have six awards.
