The new freestanding unit is likely based on the brand’s new Pleos Connect in-car infotainment software platform.

New spy shots of the 2027 Hyundai Creta’s interior have surfaced online, revealing a larger central touchscreen and a much slimmer digital driver’s display. In the previous sighting, an Ioniq 5-like zero-gravity seat button (which extends the ottoman in the EV) was spotted, along with a fresh upholstery pattern and redesigned door trims.

The new touchscreen appears larger than the current car’s 10.25-inch unit and sits as a freestanding display instead of blending into the driver’s display. It has a new interface as well, likely Hyundai’s latest Pleos Connect system, and displays key readouts such as speed, rpm and fuel level. With the next-generation Creta, Hyundai could also introduce built-in wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as the present car’s 10.25-inch touchscreen requires a wired-to-wireless adapter.

Pleos Connect also extends to the driver’s display, showing speed, media and turn-by-turn directions. This system even brings a new AI assistant called Gleo. It will initially handle vehicle controls and convenience functions through voice commands. Hyundai says it will add more services later. Over-the-air updates should allow the system to improve over time. The navigation system has also been updated with simpler menus, clearer icons, real-time traffic data and a more configurable layout. The steering and much of the dashboard layout were hidden.

Spy shots also suggest that the new SUV could come with 19-inch alloy wheels with a sharp geometric design. They should give the SUV a sportier look, but it is still unclear if Hyundai will offer them in India. If it does, they will likely be limited to higher variants and the N Line models. For reference, the current Creta is offered with 16- to 18-inch wheels.

2027 Hyundai Creta platform and powertrains

The new Creta is likely to move to Hyundai’s newer and safer K3 platform, much like the Kia Seltos. As reported, the Creta will continue with the trio of existing 1.5-litre engine options comprising a naturally aspirated petrol, a turbo-petrol and a diesel. Respective manual and automatic transmission options are likely to be retained. Additionally, the new Creta will be available with a 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid powertrain for the first time, and the Seltos hybrid is expected to use this same setup upon launch.

That would place the Hyundai SUV head-to-head against rivals such as Maruti’s Grand Vitara and Victoris and the Toyota Hyryder. Even the Renault Duster is set to get a hybrid version by Diwali.
