Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 specifications
The Continental GT 650 is a cafe-racer styled motorcycle built around a 648cc parallel-twin engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox and an assist-and-slipper clutch. Cafe-racer ergonomics define the riding position: clip-on handlebars, rear-set footpegs and a teardrop-shaped 12.5-litre fuel tank. Dual-channel ABS is standard across all three variants.
Where the specification sheet genuinely changes is at the wheels and tyres, tied directly to paint choice rather than to model or trim level. Only two of the five colours, Slipstream Blue and Apex Grey, come with alloy wheels and tubeless tyres; the other three, British Racing Green, Mr Clean and Rocker Red, retain traditional spoke wheels and tubed tyres. Selected colours also gained an LED headlight and aluminium switch cubes in a running update.
On the road, Autocar India's review describes the handling as largely composed and communicative under all sorts of situations. The softer suspension introduced after the BS6 update robs the bike of some of its natural agility, and the stock seat turns uncomfortable on longer rides.

Questions you may find useful
Hi Autocar Team. I’m a 28-year-old man, 5 ft 4 in tall, planning to buy my first motorcycle. I really love the cafe racer body style and want to buy a bike in this segment. My budget is ₹5 lakh, and I will use it for daily city commuting of about 8-10 km and short weekend trips. My focus is on good mileage, comfort, low maintenance costs and a strong, reputable service network. Please suggest a suitable motorcycle.
Cafe racers are known for many things, but comfort isn't one of them - we must clarify this at the outset before we proceed. Since this is going to be your first motorcycle, we'd recommend getting a roadster or street naked because they will be vastly more comfortable and usable. As a first bike, there is a litany of good options from Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, KTM, TVS and Royal Enfield. Look for something around the 25-30hp mark ideally. If you really have your heart set on a cafe racer, the only two options in your budget are the Triumph Thruxton 400 and the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650. Both are quite powerful and won't be ideal beginner machines because of their committed riding positions. The Royal Enfield is also a rather heavy machine, which won't be easy to manage due to your stature.
