TVS has introduced a new variant of the XL100, called the XL100 Heavy Duty Alloy, and as the name suggests, it features alloy wheels with tubeless tyres and also receives an LED headlight. Priced at Rs 59,800 (ex-showroom, Delhi), it is the new top-spec XL100, whose line-up now comprises five variants.

  1. Gets alloy wheels with tubeless tyres
  2. Features LED headlight and USB charging port
  3. Available in three colours

TVS XL100 Heavy Duty Alloy details

Only variant to feature an LED headlight

The XL100 Heavy Duty Alloy is mechanically identical to the rest of the line-up, powered by a 99.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that produces a humble 4.3hp and 6.5Nm. Suspension components, too, appear to be carried over, and stopping power continues to come from drum brakes at both ends.

The addition of alloy wheels not only gives it a rather unique aesthetic appearance, especially after years of being offered only with spoked wheels, but also brings the practical benefit of making puncture repairs much less of a hassle. According to the TVS website, the different wheels have not brought about a change in kerb weight. At 89kg, this iteration weighs just as much as three other XL100 models, with just the base XL100 Heavy Duty weighing 1kg less.

You can choose the TVS XL100 HD Alloy variant in three colour options – red, blue and grey. The XL100 does not have any direct rivals, but the closest alternative is the electric Kinetic e-Luna (Rs 69,990-82,490).
