The TVS Apache RR 310, speculatively called the Akula 310 and RR 310S previously, is finally set to be launched on December 6, 2017. The Apache RR 310 will be available in two colours – red and blue – and will be available in one variant only. The all-new trellis frame will be colour-matched to the bodywork, a first for a motorcycle at this price point. The motorcycle will also get a subtle RR 310 decal along with the Apache branding in its trademark font on the fairing. Both the red and blue bikes will be devoid of excessive graphics, which will appeal to many buyers.

Interestingly, the Apache RR 310 has been extensively tested for aerodynamics and the windscreen and fairing design are indicative of this. That said, the riding position will be focused but not overtly aggressive, and TVS aims to provide a thoroughly involving handling package while still providing comfortable riding ergonomics (like the Ducati SuperSport, for instance). The RR 310 features fairly upright clip-on handlebars, rear-set footpegs and is also equipped with a USD fork, finished in a golden colour, as well as a monoshock. The bike will be equipped with 17-inch, five-spoke alloy wheels (finished in black) as standard.

No mechanical details are known at this point except for the fact that the RR 310 will get the same 313cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor from the BMW G 310 R. While the peak power and torque outputs for the BMW stand at 34hp and 28Nm, respectively, there’s a chance that the engine will be tuned differently for the TVS. We do believe that many of the underpinnings will be shared with the BMW, although the Apache RR 310 could be priced competitively keeping in mind its rivals, the KTM 250/390 Duke and also the RC 390. We also understand that the RR 310 will have a rich feature set with a number of segment-firsts.
