In a bid to arrest falling sales, Ola Electric is now offering a discount of Rs 10,000 on its S1 Pro electric scooter for a limited period. As a result, the Ola S1 Pro will now cost Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom), which, incidentally, was its original price when it was launched in August 2021.

    • Discount only applicable on the Pro model
    • Ola is also offering a discount on extended warranty

On the back of becoming the bestselling EV two wheeler manufacturer in April, Ola decided to hike prices of the S1 Pro in May by Rs 10,000. However, the EV start-up’s sales numbers began to slide soon after, going down from 9,249 units in May to 3,421 units in August, as per data on the government's VAHAN portal.

And now, in order to help boost sales, Ola is offering Rs 10,000 off its S1 Pro scooter, which is valid until October 5. Aside from the cash discount, Ola is also offering a Rs 1,500 discount on its 5-year extended warranty, a reduced interest rate starting at 8.99 percent (down by 2.2 percent) and zero processing fee on loans. These aforementioned offers are also valid only till October 5.

However, this isn’t the only move Ola has done to help uplift sales. Just recently, the manufacturer announced that it will open over 200 experience centres across India by March 2023, after strongly committing to a digital-only sales model initially. It would appear that these experience centres have been opened to help arrest the falling sales, much like the discount, and build customer confidence in the product.

Ola also recently revealed its plans to expand to Nepal by the end of 2022, and other global markets in due course.

Does this discount make the Ola S1 Pro a more appealing proposition? Let us know in the comments.
