The Ola Roadster X+ is the flagship version of the Roadster X electric motorcycle range. It is available with 4.5kWh and 9.1kWh battery pack options and is powered by an 11kW mid-drive motor that delivers quick acceleration and a claimed top speed of 125kph. The Roadster X+ has been developed with a strong focus on technology and everyday usability. It comes equipped with MoveOS+, offering features such as cruise control, regenerative braking, parking assist, geo-fencing, over-the-air software updates, and three riding modes. It also gets an integrated charger that can be plugged into a regular 5A socket and removed to free up 3.27 litres of under-seat storage.

The Ola Roadster X+ 4.5kWh variant offers a claimed IDC range of 252km, while the 9.1kWh variant delivers a claimed IDC range of up to 501km on a full charge. In our road test, the 4.5kWh variant returned a real-world range of 130km in Normal mode.

The Roadster X+ is an upgraded version of the Roadster X. It offers a more powerful 11 kW motor, a higher top speed (125 km/h), larger battery options (up to 9.1 kWh), and a front disc brake which is not available in Roadster X.

If you mainly commute in the city, the 4.5kWh variant should be sufficient. But, if your commute includes long distances and you want fewer charging stops, you should opt for the 9.1kWh variant as it offers 501km of IDC-claimed range.

No. The Roadster X+ delivers its strongest acceleration when the battery is highly charged, especially in Sport mode. As the battery level drops, the performance gradually becomes less responsive.

Ergonomics are neutral and comfortable for everyday commuting, with an upright handlebar and well placed footpegs keeping your legs comfortable. The seat, however, is a weak point. It is quite narrow and its foam compresses after around 30 minutes of riding, so it may not be the most comfortable choice for longer journeys.

The suspension can handle small bumps reasonably well, but larger potholes and broken roads can unsettle the motorcycle. The front suspension may bottom out over bigger bumps taken at higher speeds.

The Roadster X+ offers location tracking features through its connected system, which you can use to track it remotely.

When is the Ola Roadster Pro expected to launch? Should I wait for it, or should I go ahead with the Roadster X+? I want an electric motorcycle that looks substantial, offers good range, and is not priced like a car. I am not interested in the overpriced Ultraviolette bikes.

There is no clarity on when the Ola Roadster Pro will launch. Based on our poor experience with the regular Ola Roadster X+ 4.5 in our road test review, we would not recommend Ola products. Some of Ultraviolette's e-bikes are expensive but the recently launched base version of the Ultraviolette X-47 is reasonably priced at 2.50 lakh ex-showroom and warrants your consideration. However, if you do not want to consider Ultraviolette bikes, there are very few other proven and impressive electric motorcycles we can recommend at this point. Hero MotoCorp is likely to launch the Vida Ubex and VXZ electric motorcycles either by this year end or in 2027 and those bikes should be worth waiting for.
