Triumph has released a 30sec teaser clip of the upcoming 2018 Tiger range from which a lot of details can be made out. From the short but revealing video, we can confirm the design and electronic updates, along with a confirmation of their reveal at EICMA on November 7, 2017.

Visually, it comes with what looks like a new, full-LED headlamp with a LED daytime running lamp strip running through it. Also seen in the video is the addition of the cornering function on the headlight, which sends light into the corner for better visibility. Whether this feature will be offered on both Tigers remains to be seen.

What makes us certain that the updates are both the Tiger 800 and the Tiger Explorer is that Triumph says “Tigers” and also shows two motorcycles in the video. Further, at the 5.0sec mark, we can tell clearly that the bike has a chain, which hints at the Tiger 800 (the Tiger Explorer has a shaft drive). However, the bike at the 14sec mark looks larger, wider and with a more comprehensive screen, which could make this an updated Explorer.

In the video, new switchgear is also seen on the motorcycle, and this time around, it is backlit. The mode switch is larger and will most definitely be easier to use. It also packs a toggle switch that controls a new, full-colour screen that looks similar to the one seen on the Street Triple RS, and our experience of which says that it’s easy to use, highly informative and lovely to behold.

Not much can be deciphered about the styling, but we are given a little peak as to what the tank on the new Tigers will look like, and it features more edgy, angular bodywork. Overall, we expect the new bikes to receive a cleaner look but retain the original Tiger theme. As with most updates, it’s fair to expect a slight bump in power as well as improved efficiency and cleaner emissions. Will these bikes pack all new motors? That’s a question that will be answered on November 7.
