The third-generation Hyundai Creta, which is likely to be introduced in India in 2027, has been spied testing for the first time in the country. While the spied model was wrapped in heavy camouflage, some design details of the fascia and side profile could be seen.

  1. Next-gen Creta to have the same K3 platform as the Seltos
  2. New dashboard design and Pleos Connect system are likely
  3. Upcoming Creta is expected to be larger than the current model

Third-generation Hyundai Creta: What could be seen?

The grille and alloys look similar to those of the Seltos

It is apparent from the spy shots that the next-generation Creta will borrow design cues from the larger Seltos, which received its second-generation update in 2026. The grille looks similar to that of the Seltos, spanning from one headlight to the other. The headlights, however, seem to be inspired by the second-generation Venue. Eyebrow-shaped LED daytime running lamps (DRLs) over the headlights, similar to the current model, can also be seen.

The test mule also reveals alloy wheels that appear to differ from those of other Hyundai models. The images further hint at a cleaner bumper design and aggressive creases on the bonnet, while a panoramic sunroof can also be spotted.

Third-generation Hyundai Creta: What else to expect?

Likely to get a minimalistic dashboard layout and a bigger infotainment screen

It is known that the next-generation Creta will move from its current K2 platform to the newer K3 platform, which also underpins the Seltos. With this, the Creta is also likely to grow substantially in size, similar to the Seltos. Hyundai will also aim for a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating with the Creta, as the Seltos has already received it.

The dashboard design is expected to be revamped entirely, featuring brighter colours and a minimalistic and upmarket layout, similar to the Seltos. A massive infotainment system, which seems to be a part of the Pleos Connect system, was spied overseas on the new-gen Creta and is therefore likely to be offered with the production-spec model.

Expected to get a strong hybrid engine in addition to the existing powertrains

We reported that Hyundai is working on a strong-hybrid engine for the Creta. Based on the existing 1.5-litre petrol mill, this strong hybrid is also likely to be offered on the Seltos. The other engine options on the Creta, including a 115hp 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 160hp 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a 116hp 1.5-litre diesel engine, are expected to continue, along with the manual and automatic transmission options.

The Creta Electric, however, is likely to get a facelift and not a new-generation model, and it could get larger batteries with higher range figures.
