Ducati has revealed updates for its flagship superbike, the Panigale V4, for 2023. The last time Ducati updated the Panigale V4, it left no stone unturned. Everything from the bodywork, engine, chassis, suspension, and even the winglets, were given a thorough makeover. This time around, though, the updates are relatively minor, affecting only a few electronic aids and the cooling system.

Ducati Panigale V4 MY2023: Updates

Ducati says these updates are more in line with revisions to its race-spec machines each season, rather than go a few years in the same state of tune, as is the case with most production superbikes.

The rider aids that have been revised are the engine braking control and the quickshifter. New for 2023, the ‘Engine Brake Control Evo 2’ software has changed the level of engine braking on offer on each of its three settings. Ducati claims it has now updated the software to work differently in each gear on each of the three levels available. Ducati Traction Control and ride-by-wire systems also receive a minor tweak to go along with this update.

Meanwhile, the quickshifter has been updated to provide slicker shifts at both part and full throttle. The ignition earlier used to be cut off momentarily at part throttle shifts, but the updated version simply retards ignition timing allowing the gearchange to occur more cohesively. At wide open throttle, the quickshifter will still cut the ignition but power will be restored in a more linear manner after the fact, allowing the bike to maintain its composure through the entire process.

Last but certainly not least, the programming of the radiator fan has been altered, reducing heat build-up after a spirited ride or an intense session on the track (which should be particularly helpful in our torrid summer temperatures).

Existing MY2022 Panigale V4 owners can get their bikes updated to the latest spec with a software update. The Ducati Panigale V4 currently retails for Rs 23.50 lakh and the V4S will set you back by Rs 28.40 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Expect a bump up in pricing when this new model does make its way to our shores.
