It's no secret that Royal Enfield is working on a larger 750cc engine platform – codenamed ‘R’ – and we can now exclusively report that the first bike with this larger motor will be the Continental GT-R. Codenamed R1E, the Continental GT-R will be a fully faired cafe racer that will likely debut before the end of the current financial year.

  2. Will likely have twin front disc brakes, more performance
  3. Other 750cc RE models will come post FY26

Royal Enfield Continental GT-R details

RE 750cc engine will be based on the existing 648cc twin-cyl motor

As we had previously exclusively reported, Royal Enfield is working on a larger version of its famed parallel-twin engine and we can now confirm that the first bike on that platform will be the Continental GT-R cafe racer. While no specific details are out yet, it is reasonable to expect that this larger motor will make more peak output than the 650cc mill that makes 47hp and 52.3Nm in five out of the six bikes it powers – the Bear 650 with its 2-into-1 exhaust makes a little more torque.

Since the 750cc Continental GT-R will likely be a heavier and faster machine than the existing Continental GT 650, we expect it to have twin front brake discs. This will also be a helpful addition to the racers in Royal Enfield’s Continental GT cup, which will also likely shift to this newer model when it debuts.

According to people in the know, the Royal Enfield Continental GT-R 750 is expected to debut before the end of FY26, sometime before April 2026. Where Royal Enfield decides to position it price wise poses quite a quandary, because the 650cc line-up starts at Rs 3.03 lakh with the Interceptor and goes up to Rs 3.99 lakh for the Super Meteor (which is RE’s current flagship model). Whether this will be the most expensive Royal Enfield bike to date remains to be seen.
