BS6 Bajaj Pulsar RS200 costs only Rs 3,000 more than BS4 model

A few Bajaj dealers have started taking bookings for the BS6-compliant Pulsar RS200. The updated entry-level sports tourer is priced at Rs 1.43 lakh, making it around Rs 3,000 more expensive than the outgoing BS4-compliant model. The company is expected to begin dispatching the motorcycle by the end of the week.

We have been told that the RS200 will be tuned differently and get a revised exhaust system for 2020. The 199.5cc motorcycle was already fuel-injected, which is mainly the reason why the price hike isn’t as huge as some of the company’s other models that made the switch from a carburettor.

Underneath the fairing sits the same 199.5cc motor as seen on the Bajaj Pulsar NS200. In BS4 form, this four-valve, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine produces 24.1hp at 9,750rpm and a peak torque of 18.6Nm at 8,000rpm. If, or how, these numbers have been affected by the update remains to be seen.

    All prices, ex-showroom, Pune.
