A new Bajaj model, badged the CT 125X, has been spotted undisguised at a warehouse, indicating that a launch could be right around the corner. It is as yet unclear whether this new model will replace the CT 110X entirely or be sold alongside it.

Bajaj CT 125X vs CT 110X: engine, features, price

The bike that has been spotted has ‘125X’ badging on its side panels but comes equipped with a drum brake at the front. This is a clear indication that the new bike’s engine will displace slightly less than 125cc, in accordance with the government’s rules that motorcycles above 125cc will have to be equipped with ABS, and therefore a front disc brake.

A bump up in displacement also means that the CT 125X will have a higher output than the CT 110X’s 115cc mill, which churns out 8.5hp at 7,000rpm and 9.8Nm of torque at 5,000rpm. While the minutia about this engine hasn’t been revealed yet, it could share components with other 125cc models in Bajaj’s line-up like the Pulsar 125.

While the engine is the major talking point here, the CT 125X also gets a few cosmetic changes to differentiate it from its smaller sibling. For starters, this model gets different paint options compared to the smaller CT, as well as a much thicker double-stitched seat. There is also a USB charging port on the handlebar, which isn’t found on the CT 110X.

Apart from these changes, there isn’t much to distinguish the upcoming CT 125X from the CT 110X. The overall silhouette, as well as the underpinnings, bear more than a passing resemblance to each other, indicating that the price tag this new model carries won’t be too far off the Rs 66,298 (ex-showroom, Delhi) you have to shell out for the CT 110X. When it does make its way to the showroom floors, the CT 125X will rival the likes of the Honda SP125, TVS Raider and the Hero Super Splendor.
