Bajaj Chetak range gets new features and increased top speed

Bajaj Auto has updated its Chetak line-up with new features, higher top speeds and a revised ‘C Series’ naming structure. Prices remain unchanged, starting from Rs 89,500 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) for the C2501, Rs 99,500 for the C3001, and up to Rs 1.02 lakh-1.34 lakh for the C35 range.

  1. New C Series naming introduced
  2. Top speeds increased across range; up to 80kph
  3. Ride modes, hill-hold assist now standard on select variants

Bajaj Chetak update: What’s new?

Google Maps, OTA updates and improved performance

The updated line-up brings feature additions led by the C3501, which now gets integrated Google Maps navigation via the Chetak app. It also sees a bump in motor output to 4.8kW (up from 4.5kW), resulting in a higher top speed of 80kph (earlier 73kph).

Alongside these updates, Bajaj has tweaked the nomenclature into the C25, C30 and C35 series, bringing them in line with the recently introduced C25. However, this is largely a prefix-led change, with the broader naming structure – including the numeric suffixes denoting variants – continuing as before, meaning the hierarchy remains broadly familiar, if still not entirely intuitive.

Performance upgrades extend across the line-up. The C3501 and C3502 now reach 80kph, while the C3503 and C3001 top out at 70kph (up from 63kph). The C2501’s top speed has risen to 60kph from 55kph.

The claimed range is up to 153km for the C35 series, 127km for the C30 and 113km for the C25.

Ride modes (Eco and Sport) and hill-hold assist are now standard on the C35 and C30 series, having previously been optional extras. Charging time for the C3001 has also been reduced to 2 hours and 55 minutes (0-80 percent), down from 3 hours and 50 minutes.

Additionally, the C3501 and C3502 now support over-the-air (OTA) updates, allowing for remote software enhancements without a service visit.

With these updates, Bajaj has made its Chetak scooters more feature-rich while retaining a familiar underlying structure.
