Ather 450X to be launched in two variants on January 28

Ather is set to launch a higher-spec 450 model, called the 450X, in two variants on January 28, where the company will also reveal its specifications and prices. At present, Ather is taking bookings for the 450X Collector’s Edition and it is said to be nearly sold out. The other model is a standard version, called just the 450X, which will also go on sale on the same date. That said, deliveries for these two e-scooters are expected to commence quite a bit later.

We also know that there won’t be any technical differences between the Collector’s Edition and the standard model, with the changes being only cosmetic in nature. One of the latest teasers from the company has revealed that the 450X is set to get multiple colour options, and we can expect the Collector’s Edition to get a unique colour along with special graphics. Ather has also said that it’ll be giving out a t-shirt from its merchandise series to those who have pre-ordered the Collector’s Edition.

While we await more information on the technical aspects of the two models, the company claims that “the Ather 450X is way quicker, smarter, more connected and looks even cooler.” A company-released teaser also hints that the scooter will come with fast-charging.

The company has revealed that the 450X will first be launched in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Pune, Chennai and Bengaluru, followed by Ahmedabad, Kochi, Coimbatore and Kolkata. Ather Energy has also signed an MoU for a 4,00,000 sq. ft. EV-manufacturing facility with the Government of Tamil Nadu, at the Investment and Skill Development Conclave in Chennai. The company is now looking to grow its operations across India.
