Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS: More power and better componentry for 2025
Despite the substantial price increase, it still undercuts its European rivals
At the heart of the Speed Triple 1200 RS sits a 1,160cc, 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor making 183hp and 128Nm of torque, which is 3hp and 3Nm up over the outgoing model. This increase in output has been achieved via a freer-flowing exhaust system. The rest of the specifications of the bike stay the same, except the weight, which has increased by a kilo to 199kg.
Triumph has also revised the componentry on the Speed Triple 1200 RS for 2025. The British supernaked is now suspended by the latest-gen electronically adjustable Ohlins EC3 units, replacing the previous bike’s manually adjustable suspension units. Our gripe with the previous model was that its suspension simply felt too stiff for use on the road, especially in the Indian context, and this move should help mitigate this issue, to some extent at least.

The updated Speed Triple 1200 RS now runs on Pirelli Supercorsa V3 tyres, whereas the earlier bike shipped with Metzeler Racetec RR rubber. Tyre sizes stay the same at 120/70-ZR17 (front) and 190/55-ZR17 (rear).
Additionally, the Speed Triple now also comes standard with a steering damper, a useful addition on a machine that can hoist its front wheel rather easily. For 2025, Triumph has also bestowed the Speed Triple with new wheels, which are claimed to be lighter. Lower unsprung mass means reduced inertia and gyroscopic forces while turning from side to side – always helpful on a motorcycle, especially one as sporty as this.
The suite of electronic rider aids has seen some revision, too, with the wheelie control now independently adjustable of the traction control settings – this was another gripe with the previous model, and it’s good to see Triumph incorporate feedback into this update.
Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS price and colours
The 2025 Speed Triple 1200 RS comes in three colours: all-black, grey/red and grey/yellow. At Rs 20.39 lakh, the Speed Triple 1200 RS’ price has increased by Rs 2.44 lakh, which is no small change. Despite that, the British brute is actually the most affordable European supernaked in our country, undercutting both the Ducati Streetfighter V4 (Rs 24.62 lakh to Rs 28 lakh) and the KTM 1390 Super Duke R (Rs 22.96 lakh).
