    • Its 659cc parallel-twin makes 100hp and 67Nm

Aprilia RS 660: An all-new motorcycle

The Aprilia RS660 is the Italian manufacturer's new middleweight motorcycle that has been developed completely from scratch.

The styling, to begin with, is sleek and sporty, which is apparent in its sharp twin-LED headlamps and the cuts and creases on the fairing. The exposed aluminium frame is a neat touch as well.

    The RS660 is powered by Aprilia's new Euro 5 (BS6) compliant, 659cc, parallel-twin engine derived from the Aprilia RSV4 1100's V4 unit. This twin-cylinder engine has a 270-degree firing order and produces 100hp at 10,500rpm and 67Nm at 8,500rpm.

As expected of an Aprilia, the RS 660 features a comprehensive suite of electronic rider aids. The six-axis IMU-based system includes three-level cornering ABS, adjustable wheelie control, traction control and engine brake control. It also gets an up/down quickshifter and cruise control. The motorcycle has five ride modes – Commute, Dynamic, Individual, Challenge and Time Attack. These modes can be accessed via the TFT dashboard.

The suspension components consist of a Kayaba fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Radially-mounted Brembos take care of braking duties.

Aprilia RS 660: Colours and availability

The Aprilia RS660 will be available in three colours – Acid Gold, Lava Red and Apex Black. Deliveries of the motorcycle are expected to begin in the coming months.
