The Suzuki Gixxer will be offered with ABS soon. We have got hold of pictures of the upcoming Suzuki Gixxer ABS that is expected to be launched by end of this month or early May.

The Suzuki Gixxer ABS is expected to carry a premium of around Rs 6,500. The standard variant of the Gixxer retails for Rs 77,015 (rear drum brake), while the rear disc brake variant carries a sticker price of Rs 80,929 (both prices, ex-showroom, Delhi). The ABS unit on the Gixxer will be a single-channel unit (only on the front wheel) as seen on the Suzuki Gixxer SF and the Intruder. From the pictures, it’s evident that ABS model will be equipped with rear disc brake. Apart from the addition of ABS, no mechanical or cosmetic changes have been made to the motorcycle.

While the Suzuki Gixxer SF and intruder get fuel-injection as an option, it seems that the Gixxer will continue to be offered with only carburettor. Powering the motorcycle is a 155cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 14.8hp at 8,000rpm and 14Nm at 6,000rpm. The Suzuki Gixxer competes against the Honda CB Hornet 160R, Yamaha FZ-S FiBajaj Pulsar NS160 and the TVS Apache RTR160 4V.
