We were the first ones to tell you about Ducati’s plan to launch the 959 Panigale Corse in India. This news is now official and the company has priced this supersport motorcycle at Rs 15.20 lakh (ex-showroom, India). However, the 959 Panigale Corse available in India only features the special red and white racing colour scheme from the international model, and misses out on all of the other highlight features.

The highlight feature on international-spec Corse is its suspension, which comprises a fully-adjustable Ohlins NI30 43mm fork and a TTX36 monoshock and an adjustable Ohlins steering damper. The weight of that motorcycle is also down by 2.26kg compared to the standard 959 thanks to the Akrapovič exhaust and lithium-ion battery, all of which doesn’t make it to the India-spec Corse.

Being mechanically identical to the standard 959, it continues to make 150hp at 10,500rpm and 102Nm of torque at 9,000rpm from its 955cc engine. At this price, the Corse is just Rs 67,000 more expensive than the standard 959 Panigale (in red colour) which retails for Rs 14.53 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

In terms of displacement, the bike doesn’t have any direct competitors. However, the premium pricing positions it directly against full-blown and significantly more powerful litre-bikes like the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R (Rs 12.80 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi) and the Honda CBR1000RR (Rs 16.79 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi).
