Lexus has launched its first all-electric offering in India, the ES 500e sedan, at Rs 89.99 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). It is offered with a 74.68kWh battery pack that powers two electric motors (one on each axle), which have a combined output of 343hp and 438Nm. Lexus claims a range of up to 580km and a 0-100kph time of 5.5 seconds. It gets a sleek exterior with a cliff-face nose and features ‘twin L-signature’ DRLs, projector-LED headlights, a blanked-off grille and vertical black elements on the bumper. It features 21-inch aero-optimised alloy wheels and a black Z-shaped trim on the doors. The rear sports a slim LED taillight bar with an illuminated Lexus badge. Inside, it gets a minimalistic layout with a 3-spoke steering wheel, dual digital screens and a centre console panel with touch-enabled buttons.
