Is the Toyota Innova Crysta a good highway cruiser?

The Innova Crysta has a torquey diesel engine and a spacious cabin, which makes it a perfect upgrade from an XL6 or an Ertiga.

Toyota Innova Crysta

I am considering buying a 7-seater Toyota Innova Crysta 2.4 GX as a replacement for my Maruti Suzuki XL6 AT. Is it a wise decision? I am not happy with the highway performance of the current car, and only want MPVs as I am 6ft 2in tall. What should I do?

Pratikrajsinh, Rajkot

Autocar India says: The XL6 is a very well-sorted MPV, but as you’ve rightly said, it is down on power and has to be worked hard on the highway. The Crysta’s torquey diesel engine feels effortless on the highway and can cruise comfortably all day long without breaking a sweat. It is more spacious than the XL6 too, so will be comfortable for someone of your height. If performance and comfort are important to you, then it’s worth switching to the diesel Crysta. Toyota has discontinued the Innova Crysta automatic, so if you'd prefer the convenience, look for a good used Innova Crysta.
