When GST 2.0 was implemented in September, KTM made the decision to absorb the additional costs for its 390 range. However, the company has now revised its pricing strategy post the festive season, and prices for the 390 Adventure X and 390 Adventure have gone up by up to Rs 27,000. With this latest increase, the price gap between the 390 Adventure X and RE Himalayan 450 has narrowed – here's how they now compare.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 price after GST 2.0

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 top variant price has increased by Rs 22,000.

Prices for the Himalayan 450 started at Rs 2.85 lakh and went up to Rs 2.98 lakh for the top variant. The only difference between the variants is colour schemes, with Hanle Black being the most premium. With the new GST rates, the bike is now priced starting at Rs 3.06 lakh and goes up to Rs 3.20 lakh (ex-showroom).

Here is the detailed pricing for all of the variants before and after GST 2.0:

The Himalayan 450 debuted the 452cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled Sherpa engine. It produces 40hp at 8,000rpm, a peak torque of 40Nm at 5,500rpm and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.

KTM 390 Adventure X price after GST 2.0

The price of the KTM 390 Adventure has increased by Rs 22,410.

There is only one variant of the KTM 390 Adventure X. It was first launched for around Rs 2.90 lakh (ex-showroom), but KTM then equipped it with features seen on the top-spec 390 Adventure, including cruise control, riding modes (Street, Rain, and Off-road), cornering ABS, and traction control. The price then went up to Rs 3.04 lakh. After intially absorbing the additional GST costs, the KTM 390 Adventure has now seen its price increase by Rs 22,410 to Rs 3.26 lakh (ex-showroom).

The main difference between the KTM 390 Adventure X and the 390 Adventure is the use of a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels opposed to a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear tubeless spoked wheels.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 vs KTM 390 Adventure X price comparison

The 390 Adventure X now costs Rs 6,000 more than the top variant of the Himalayan 450.

When the revised GST rates first kicked in, KTM absorbed the hike, briefly making the 390 Adventure X about Rs 17,000 cheaper than the top-spec Himalayan 450 and roughly Rs 3,000 cheaper than the base variant. Now, the tables have turned. With the 390 Adventure X priced at Rs 3.26 lakh, it’s Rs 6,000 more expensive than the top-spec Himalayan 450 (Rs 3.20 lakh) and a full Rs 20,000 costlier than the base version of the bike (Rs 3.06 lakh). Despite the increase, the KTM still offers a worthwhile, feature-rich package, with a lighter kerb weight and alloy wheels with tubeless tyres as standard – something Himalayan buyers must pay extra for.
