The Rolls-Royce Ghost stands out as the most accessible combustion-run limousine in the British high-end luxury car brand's portfolio. It's also special for retaining its venerable V12 block at a time when most manufacturers have either downsized engine capacities or opted for a hybrid powertrain due to stricter emissions norms. Now that we have you hooked, here are the answers to some common queries about the Rolls-Royce Ghost.

    1. What is the Rolls Royce Ghost price in India?

The Ghost is priced from Rs 8.95 crore onwards

The Ghost standard wheelbase is the most affordable Rolls-Royce at Rs 8.95 crore, ex-showroom. Next up is the Ghost extended wheelbase that takes it up to Rs 10.19 crore, and the Black Badge tops it off at Rs 10.52 crore. Note that the above-mentioned Ghost prices in India are before options. 2. What features does the Rolls Royce Ghost offer?

    Exterior

The Rolls-Royce Ghost's recent facelift brought along a blockier design as seen on the Cullinan SUV. Its front gets LED headlights with eyebrow-like DRLs and a massive chrome grille, and its tail-lamps have distinctive vertical strakes that we first saw on the all-electric Spectre. As for wheels, the carmaker offers two 22-inch options in our country.

    Interior

A major addition to the cabin has to be 'Duality Twill', which is essentially a colourful stitching pattern intertwining 'RR' lettering with nautical rope knots. When it comes to upholstery, the Ghost uses sustainable bamboo-based rayon. Interestingly, about 18km of thread, which takes 20 hours to make, is used in the interior. Then, there's a backlit Spirit of Ecstasy timepiece on the dashboard and a 10.25-inch touchscreen wired to a 1,400-watt bespoke sound system featuring 18 speakers. For the chauffeur-driven, the Ghost offers rear infotainment screens compatible with wireless headphones. It also gets the famous 'starlight' headliner with a multitude of lights, as well as motorised rear coach doors.

    3. What custom options are available with the Rolls Royce Ghost?

    No cap on customisation

Custom options on the RR Ghost are endless. For instance, you can have the Ghost's exterior painted with either a single or double coachline. Additionally, there are dual-tone paint options, as well as a Rhodium Silver shade for the bonnet. Something as small as wheel caps, which house the self-levelling 'RR' logo, come with multiple colour options. Also, buyers can have the 'Spirit of Ecstasy' in rose gold, silver, or gold-plated.

The famous 'starlight' headliner is a part of the optional kit, just like the multiple rear seat options, including two seats with a centre console (does not include fridge; it's sold separately), serenity seats and lounge seats. Functions like heating, cooling and massage for the seats are also chargeable extras.

    4. How is the ride comfort on the Rolls Royce Ghost like?

Clever suspension trickery, well-cushioned seats ensure supreme ride comfort

As is the case with every Rolls-Royce, the Ghost is engineered with supreme levels of craftsmanship and a bucketload of attention to detail. To make every ride in the Ghost buttery smooth, it comes equipped with self-levelling air springs and a 'Flagbearer' system, which uses cameras to scan the road ahead and prepare the suspension system for any changes in surface. All this tech has allowed Rolls to fit super-thin tyres on the Ghost's massive 22-inch wheels with little compromise to ride quality.

In our Ghost review, though, we noted that getting inside from the rear-hinged doors is not so easy. Coming to the seats, they are extremely comfortable and recline. But it's only once you push the seat base forward to unlock the full angle do the actual comfort potential of these seats get unlocked.

    5. Which engine does the Rolls Royce Ghost have?

    6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12 petrol

Under the long hood of the Ghost resides an ultra-refined 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine, which is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. One of the last standing V12s, the Ghost's massive petrol block generates 571hp and 850Nm in standard and extended wheelbase guises. The same engine is tuned to make 600hp and 900Nm in the Black Badge. In case you were curious about the Ghost's mileage figures, Rolls-Royce claims 6.45kpl (standard and extended) and 6.36kpl (Black Badge) on the WLTP cycle.
