Once meant for luxury cars, ventilated seats have become a popular and must-have feature in mass-market cars in recent times. Initially, carmakers offered it only in front-row seats, but it has now made its way to the second-row seats to cater to chauffeur-driven customers. It’s a great feature to have, especially during our harsh summer months, and here’s a list of the most affordable cars with second-row seat ventilation. Interestingly, all the vehicles in this list are SUVs.
5. Mahindra XEV 9S
Available from Pack Three trim, prices start at Rs 27.35 lakh

The Mahindra XEV 9S is the only electric vehicle on this list of cars with second-row seat ventilation. The feature is available only in the top Pack Three and Pack Three Above trims with the 79kWh battery pack. The SUV produces 286hp and 380Nm of torque and comes with a packed feature list, including a triple-screen setup, a powered driver’s seat, a panoramic sunroof, and more.
4. Tata Safari
Available from Accomplished X+ trim, prices start at Rs 22.83 lakh

The Tata Safari gets ventilated seats for the second row starting from the Accomplished X+ trim and in 6-seat variants only. The SUV is available in petrol and diesel powertrains, with the petrol range getting an Accomplished Ultra top trim with more features. Both the petrol- and diesel-powered Safari variants produce an identical 170hp, but the diesel makes more torque – 350Nm compared to the Safari petrol’s 280Nm. Additionally, the Safari comes with Stealth and Red Dark Editions for the Accomplished X+ and Accomplished Ultra trims, respectively, which bring in cosmetic changes.
3. Mahindra XUV 7XO
Available on AX7 L trim, prices start at Rs 22.47 lakh

Like its EV counterpart, the Mahindra XUV 7XO gets ventilated seats for the second row. The feature is available on both 6-seater and 7-seater petrol and diesel variants in the top trim. However, petrol variants with ventilated second-row seats only get an automatic transmission. The petrol XUV 7XO produces 203hp and 380Nm of torque, while the diesel makes 185hp and 420Nm of torque (450Nm in AT). Notably, the XUV 7XO is the only SUV here to offer AWD, which comes with the diesel automatic only.
2. Hyundai Alcazar
Available on Signature trim, priced at Rs 21.06 lakh

Only the top Signature trim with 6 seats of the Hyundai Alcazar comes with a ventilation function for the second-row seats. The Alcazar petrol produces 160hp and 253Nm of torque, while the diesel makes 116hp and 250Nm of torque. While both variants that offer this feature are identically priced, the diesel one misses out on a panoramic sunroof.
