The Triumph Scrambler 400 X was the second motorcycle to come out of the Bajaj-Triumph partnership. It had more rugged elements to give it some off-road capabilities and is a larger motorcycle than the Speed 400. Here is all you need to know about it.

What engine does the Triumph Scrambler 400 X use and what are the power figures?

The bike uses a 398.15cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 40hp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 37.5Nm at 6,500rpm. The main difference between the Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400 X is that the Scrambler uses a 14-tooth front sprocket compared to the 15-tooth sprocket on the Speed.

What is the fuel tank capacity, kerb weight and seat height of the Triumph Scrambler 400 X?

The bike has a fuel tank capacity of 13 litres and a kerb weight of 185kg. The seat height stands at 835mm.

What features does the Triumph Scrambler 400 X get?

The bike gets an analogue speedometer with an integrated LCD display. This unit displays basic information at a quick glance, but misses out on any type of connectivity features. The bike has a USB charging port, features switchable Traction Control and ABS at the rear wheel can also be switched off.

What is the suspension travel of the Scrambler 400 X compared to the Speed 400?

The bike gets 150mm of travel at both ends. In comparison, the Speed 400 gets 140mm of travel at the front and 130mm of rear suspension travel.

The bike gets MRF tyres; a 110/90-19 at the front and 140/80-17 at the rear.

What is the braking setup on the Scrambler 400 X?

The bike gets a 320mm disc at the front and a 230mm disc at the rear. While the Speed 400 gets sintered brake pads, the Scrambler 400 X comes with organic brake pads. For improved feel, riders can swap out the organic brake pads to sintered ones.

What is the price of the Triumph Scrambler 400 X?

The Scrambler 400 X is offered in a single variant and priced at Rs 2.68 lakh (ex-showroom). The Scrambler 400 XC can be considered a variant of this bike but it is listed as a different model. It gets tubeless spoked wheels, different colour schemes, some additional parts and is priced at Rs 2.95 lakh (ex-showroom).
