If you enjoy watching good drivers at work, here's some news for you: the Asia Auto Gymkhana Competition (AAGC) comes to India on September 29-30, and promises to be the biggest gymkhana event the country has ever seen.

Recognised by the FIA and organised in conjunction with the FMSCI, the AAGC will hold Round 2 in Thane. For those of you unfamiliar with the concept, Gymkhana is a form of motorsport which relies wholly on the driver’s skill and technique.

The challenge is to navigate through a short timed loop, which comprises obstacles and choreographed manoeuvres such as 360-degree spins, J-Turns, taking on slaloms, box parking and doing the figure-of-8, among other things. This isn't so much about speed as it is about precision driving, which is just what promises to make it such a thrill to watch.

There will be a total of 32 drivers participating in the India round of the AAGC 2018, coming from 16 countries from across the globe, and will be driving a specially-prepped Volkswagen Polo 1.6 MPI.

If you like the sound of this, we can tell you that entry to the event will be free - so stay tuned to our website and social media channels for more information!
