Corroborating our May report, the Commerce Ministry has announced that the third edition of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo (BMGE) will be held from February 4 to 9, 2027, in Delhi-NCR. BMGE had switched to an annual format for the last two shows in 2024 and 2025. However, the shift to a biennial schedule has been made so that the participants have more time to build and showcase next-generation mobility solutions.
- Frequency of Bharat Mobility Global Expo was under review for several months
- BMGE 2027 may be held at the same three NCR locations as the last edition
BMGE’s shift from annual to biennial cycle
Aimed at building a value proposition for everyone

This comes just months after the previous BMGE, held in January, when Rajesh Agrawal — then additional secretary in the Department of Commerce — said the government was keen to make it an annual event, but emphasised that suggestions and discussions from all stakeholders were essential to build a value proposition for everyone. Not only in India, but globally, prominent international auto shows, including those in Frankfurt, Geneva and Detroit, are either being scaled down, postponed, or restructured, as the car industry shifts from large exhibitions to smaller, more focused brand events.
New multi-modal mobility and logistics section may be introduced
In addition to keeping with the format of earlier editions that featured exhibitions, technical sessions and stakeholder consultations, the 2027 BMGE might add a dedicated section on ‘multi-modal mobility and logistics’ encompassing rail, road, air, water, urban and rural mobility, and a showcase focused on tractors and agricultural mobility solutions.
BMGE 2025 highlights
About 10 lakh visitors and over 1,500 exhibitors

BMGE 2025 was the world’s second-largest auto show, attracting nearly 10 lakh visitors and over 1,500 exhibitors. The event was held across multiple venues in the Delhi-NCR region, including Bharat Mandapam, the Yashobhoomi Complex, and the India Expo Centre and Mart. In fact, the previous move to an annual cycle was made after India overtook Japan as the third-largest car market in the world. That said, the show did not see participation from a few key car manufacturers like Honda, Audi, Renault and Nissan. These have already announced plans for new cars and may showcase some at the upcoming show.
