Audi India has inaugurated its first 450kW fast charging station in Mumbai at BKC. The charging station, which has been set up in partnership with Charge Zone, gets a high-powered gun capable of delivering up to 360kW/500amps to an electric vehicle, according to the company.

The charging station has five charging hubs and also has an all-day lounge access for customers. The brand is providing free e-charging for Audi e-tron customers till March 2024.

It has solar roof panels that are used to provide energy for peripheral electrical requirements. As per the company, the Audi Q8 55 e-tron, equipped with a 114kWh battery, can charge from 20 percent to 80 percent in just 26 minutes at this charging station, which is open to EVs from all brands.

So far, Audi India has installed over 140 chargers across 73 cities in India, including dealerships and strategic locations along highways. As far as fast charging stations go, the one in Mumbai is Audi's first and there are plans to have more such locations in multiple major cities.
