Toyota Land Cruiser expert review
With its bold stance and a massive grille flanked by chrome accents, the LC300 is every bit the intimidating road presence you’d expect. Though its silhouette resembles the LC200, it’s an all-new design under the skin. The 20-inch wheels, body-on-frame construction, and high ground clearance make it unapologetically rugged. However, the rear styling is a bit tame compared to the aggressive front, and the absence of air suspension limits adjustability.
9
The cabin exudes luxury with soft-touch materials, wood inserts, and plush front seats. However, the rear seats don’t offer the space or thigh support expected at this price point, and a few features like sunshades or a panoramic sunroof are missing. The analogue dials and basic touchscreen interface also feel a bit dated. On the plus side, a massive 1,131-litre boot ensures excellent luggage capacity.
7
Powered by a 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel (309hp/700Nm), it delivers strong mid-range performance. The 10-speed auto ensures smooth shifts, though the engine is grumbly at higher revs. It’s not a quick SUV, but excels in highway cruising and off-road scenarios, with multi-terrain select and crawl control for extreme conditions.
8
Expect single-digit real-world mileage, but a 110-litre tank provides excellent touring range.
6
The ride is surprisingly composed for a ladder-frame SUV. While body roll and bulk are evident in corners, its long-travel suspension soaks up rough terrain with ease, making it supremely capable off the beaten path.
7
Offered only in the ZX variant, it includes LED lights, 12.3-inch touchscreen, JBL audio, ventilated seats, 360-degree camera, four-zone climate control, drive and off-road modes, and 10 airbags. It's well-equipped, but not class-leading in tech sophistication.
8
At ₹2.31 crore, the LC300 is eye-wateringly expensive and lacks some finesse and features of similarly priced European rivals. But for those prioritising durability, capability, and comfort in a go-anywhere SUV, the LC300 remains unmatched.
