Toyota has introduced a new petrol-hybrid powertrain for the popular Land Cruiser 300 SUV in Australia. The petrol-hybrid setup on the Land Cruiser 300 delivers a combined output of 457hp, making it the most powerful Land Cruiser ever.

Toyota LC 300 petrol-hybrid specs

The 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 hybrid shares its petrol-hybrid powertrain with the recently unveiled Lexus LX700h SUV. It is equipped with a new 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine, which is paired with an electric motor generator in a parallel hybrid arrangement. Combined, the system churns out a total of 457hp of power. The Land Cruiser 300 hybrid comes with a 10-speed automatic gearbox as standard.

Apart from the new petrol hybrid powertrain, the Land Cruiser 300 hybrid also gets slight cosmetic updates with a unique front bumper design and a slightly larger air intake as compared to the standard LC 300 SUV. It also has dedicated HEV badges on the exterior. These updates are limited to the LC 300 hybrid only. The LC 300 GR Sport, also equipped with this new petrol-hybrid powertrain, does not get any exterior design updates.

On the inside, no major changes are seen except for the addition of an updated digital instrument cluster with hybrid-specific readings and new graphics. The infotainment screen gets an upgrade with a larger 12.3-inch display. In the cargo area, Toyota has also added a power outlet, which was missing in the earlier LC 300 SUVs.

Toyota LC 300 in India

In India, Toyota updated the Land Cruiser 300 a few months ago for the 2025 model year. The SUV is available in standard and the off-road-focused GR Sport versions. Here, it is powered by a 3.3-litre V6 diesel engine that makes 309hp and 700Nm of peak torque. Its ex-showroom price is between Rs 2.31 crore and Rs 2.41 crore.  

The new Land Cruiser 300 petrol-hybrid will first go on sale in Australia in the first half of 2026, followed by other markets. There is no news of Toyota introducing the LC 300 petrol hybrid in India.
