Tata Safari price in Pakur
Buyers shopping the Tata Safari in Pakur first have to settle a layout question, 6 seats with captain's chairs or the more practical 7-seat arrangement, since that choice runs across the range before automatic-gearbox premiums or on-road math come into play. On top of the ex-showroom figure sit RTO registration, insurance and other statutory charges, which is why identical variants price differently across cities. The Smart 7 seat 1.5 Turbo-GDI, entry point to the lineup, carries an ex-showroom tag of Rs. 13.40 lakh in Pakur, and with these charges added, the on-road figure lands at Rs. 15.01 lakh.
An EMI of Rs. 21,720 against a loan of Rs. 13,50,000 is what financing the Smart 7 seat 1.5 Turbo-GDI works out to, a figure worth keeping as a reference point before moving up a trim purely for one feature. Given how widely prices stretch from the base model to the range-topping diesel automatic, it pays to fix a must-have feature list first and let that, rather than the on-road number alone, decide which trim suits a buyer in Pakur.

The Tata Safari petrol is more affordable than the diesel version by Rs 1.2 lakh-1.4 lakh across the range.
If your usage is mostly in the city, the Safari petrol's lower upfront cost (by around Rs 1.2 lakh-1.4 lakh) makes it the more viable pick. However, if you frequently go on highway trips, we recommend the Safari diesel as it will be more frugal in this scenario.
Regardless of the engine option you go with, the Safari AT commands a premium of Rs 1.45 lakh-1.65 lakh over the MT.
Suggest me a 5-7 seater automatic petrol car considering my budget is between Rs. 22-24 lakh. My priorities are safety, driving comfort with good suspension and decent mileage. My daily city driving is approximately 30km with 75% driving within the city. I have tested Kia Seltos but did not like its suspension. I liked Harrier and Safari but am bit taken aback by the issues highlighted on social media about Tata. Please suggest a suitable car for my priorities among Harrier, Safari and 7XO and also, whether a diesel car will make sense?
Given your 75% city usage, go for the Mahindra XUV 7XO petrol automatic rather than the diesel. The diesel will deliver better mileage, but your usage isn't ideal for a diesel's DPF system. A DPF traps soot and periodically needs to regenerate by getting hot enough to burn that soot. Predominantly slow, stop-start city driving can prevent this from happening properly, resulting in more frequent regeneration requests and, if these are repeatedly interrupted, potential clogging and workshop intervention.A 30km daily commute can be fine for a diesel if it includes enough steady-speed running, and regular highway trips would reduce the concern. But with 75% of your driving in the city, choosing diesel primarily for mileage isn't worth adding another consideration to ownership. The petrol XUV 7XO will cost more to run, but it avoids the DPF and DEF-related considerations and is the simpler choice for predominantly urban use.Choose the XUV 7XO petrol automatic. The Harrier and Safari remain good alternatives if you prefer their ride and styling, but between the three, the 7XO petrol offers the best combination of comfort, space, safety and hassle-free city ownership for your usage.
I want to buy a 7-seater SUV and am confused between the Tata Safari Pure X Petrol and Mahindra XUV 7XO AX5. Mileage and low maintenance costs are important to me. Which one should I consider?
Go for the Mahindra XUV 7XO AX5 petrol. It is the better all-rounder for your requirements. The 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine is more powerful than the Safari’s 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and delivers stronger performance without a significant penalty in fuel efficiency. The XUV 7XO also has a more modern cabin, a larger boot and a smoother ride, which makes it the better family car overall. Mahindra’s service network is strong, and the 7XO has a good reliability track record. The Tata Safari petrol is a comfortable and spacious SUV, but its engine may feel strained with a full load. Its main advantage is a more comfortable third row than the 7XO’s. Overall, though, the XUV 7XO is the more rounded package.
I’m planning to keep my next 7-seater for 8–10 years. My annual running is around 12,000km, mostly on the highway, although the car may sometimes remain parked for 3–6 months because I work abroad. My budget is around Rs 18 lakh, with some flexibility of another Rs 1–2 lakh, and I prefer a manual. I’m currently considering the Hyundai Alcazar Executive petrol, Alcazar diesel and Mahindra XUV 7XO base/AX3 diesel. The XUV 7XO is a large and heavy car, so I’m concerned that the petrol version may not deliver good real-world fuel economy. The Tata Safari petrol is also on the list, but I have some concerns about Tata’s after-sales service. My priorities are long-term reliability, real-world mileage, maintenance costs and overall peace of mind rather than just features. I’m also considering the implications of E20 petrol and potential DPF/AdBlue-related issues with a diesel car that may sit unused for several months. The XUV 7XO’s lower variants also have a long waiting period, whereas Hyundai is currently offering a Rs 1 lakh ex-showroom discount on the Alcazar. I’m currently driving a 2008 Maruti Suzuki SX4 petrol manual. There are six adults and a toddler in the family. Considering all these factors, which one would you personally buy in this situation, and why?
Go for the Hyundai Alcazar Executive Diesel Manual as it best fits your requirements. Your usage of 12,000 km/year, mostly on highways, means a diesel manual makes sense because the fuel savings will add up over time, and the Alcazar diesel is a proven, reliable package with a comfortable ride and a strong service network. The Alcazar is also a more manageable size than the Mahindra XUV 7XO, and the discount you are getting makes it even better value. The XUV 7XO diesel is a great car, but the long waiting period and larger size make it less practical for your needs. The Tata Safari petrol is not the right choice here because your usage is highway-heavy and diesel is the better fit. The Alcazar diesel will give you the best balance of efficiency, reliability and peace of mind over the long term.
I want to purchase a 7-seater SUV. My options are the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV 7XO, and Scorpio N, and I am considering installing an aftermarket CNG kit for better fuel economy. Could you please suggest which one would be better suited for CNG?
We would strongly advise against installing aftermarket CNG on any of these SUVs. All three – the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV 7XO and Scorpio N - are large, heavy vehicles with powerful turbocharged petrol engines. Fitting CNG to such engines is not recommended, as it can lead to drivability issues, increased wear and potential reliability concerns over time. More importantly, these SUVs are not designed with CNG in mind, and the installation can compromise safety and performance. If fuel economy is a top priority, opt for their diesel versions instead. The Mahindra and Tata offer strong torque, excellent highway efficiency and are well-suited to long-distance touring. If you are set on CNG, it is better to look at smaller, naturally aspirated petrol cars that are either factory-fitted or specifically designed for CNG use.Between the three, the XUV 7XO diesel would be our recommendation. It offers a more modern package, better ride comfort and a more premium cabin than the Scorpio N, while the Safari diesel is also a strong contender if you prefer Tata's design and feature set. But CNG should not be the deciding factor here.
I’m looking to buy a 7-seater SUV and currently have two options shortlisted: the Mahindra XUV 7XO AX Petrol and the Tata Safari Pure Plus Petrol. I’m not very concerned about features, bells and whistles, or premium interiors. My main priorities are engine performance, long-term engine reliability, reliability with low usage, mechanical durability, ownership experience, highway stability, and comfort. My running is extremely low, but I occasionally do a ~1,500 km continuous highway trip. Between the XUV 7XO 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and the Safari 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, which one would you choose specifically for performance and long-term reliability? Also, are there any other SUVs I should consider in a similar price range?
Go for the XUV 7XO AX petrol. It is the better fit for your priorities. The 2.0-litre turbo-petrol is a proven engine with a strong ownership track record, and delivers significantly better performance than the Safari’s 1.5-litre turbo-petrol. The Mahindra XUV 7XO feels more effortless on the highway, especially with a full load, and overtaking is easier thanks to its stronger mid-range.It is also the more mechanically sorted package overall, with a better-calibrated gearbox and a more mature ownership experience. The Tata Safari’s 1.5-litre turbo-petrol is adequate for city driving, but it can feel strained on the highway with a full load and does not offer the same level of performance, refinement, or long-distance ease as the engine in the Mahindra car.For your usage pattern, low running with occasional long highway trips, petrol is the right choice, and the XUV 7XO’s engine is better suited to this kind of usage. It is a robust, reliable powertrain that can handle high mileage over the long term, and it does not suffer from the same concerns around DPF or diesel-related issues that can arise with low usage. If you are open to alternatives, the Toyota Innova HyCross is worth considering. It is not an SUV, but it is the benchmark for long-term reliability and ownership experience. The hybrid powertrain is extremely well suited to your usage pattern. It is also a genuinely comfortable long-distance car with a proven track record.
