The Porsche Macan continues to stand apart in the luxury midsize SUV segment because it prioritises driving involvement above everything else. Even after several updates, the Macan still looks sharp and athletic, with proportions that make it appear more like a raised sports wagon than a traditional SUV. The 2022 facelift brought subtle styling revisions including redesigned bumpers, updated LED lighting and cleaner detailing. The changes are evolutionary rather than dramatic, but the Macan remains one of the most cohesive-looking luxury SUVs on sale.
Underneath, the Macan uses a steel-intensive monocoque chassis with Porsche’s active suspension systems and all-wheel-drive hardware. The GTS further benefits from Porsche Active Suspension Management, lowered ride height and performance-oriented chassis tuning.

Inside, the facelifted Macan received one of its biggest upgrades. The old button-heavy centre console was replaced by a cleaner touch-sensitive panel inspired by the Panamera and Cayenne. The cabin quality is superb throughout, with solid materials, excellent ergonomics and a distinctly driver-focused layout. Porsche’s thick-rimmed steering wheel and low seating position reinforce the Macan’s sporty personality from the moment you sit inside.
Front-seat comfort is excellent. Rear-seat space is merely adequate by segment standards. Taller passengers may find knee room and under-thigh support less generous than in rivals like the BMW X3 or Mercedes GLC.
7
The Macan is powered by a 2-litre Turbocharged petrol engine producing 265hp and 400Nm paired with a 7 speed PDK dual clutch gearbox and all wheel drive system. Performance feels strong and immediate. The engine delivers smooth, progressive acceleration, while the gearbox responds with lightning-fast shifts. Porsche claims 0–100kph in 6.2 seconds, and the Macan consistently feels eager and responsive on the move.
Refinement is impressive too. In normal driving, the engine remains quiet and relaxed.
7
The expected fuel efficiency of Macan is around 7 to 12kmpl. The mileage varies upon the driving style and conditions.

This is where the Macan truly stands apart, no competing SUV in India matches the Macan’s driving experience. The steering is sharp, beautifully weighted and packed with feel. Body control is exceptional, and the Macan changes direction with an agility that feels completely unlike a conventional SUV. Yet despite its sporty handling, ride comfort remains surprisingly good. The suspension absorbs rough roads confidently while still maintaining tight control over body movements. High-speed stability is outstanding, and the Macan feels deeply confidence inspiring when driven hard.
7
The facelifted Macan gets a large touchscreen infotainment system, connected-car tech, premium audio options and updated driver assistance systems.
Safety equipment includes multiple airbags, stability control, advanced braking systems and Porsche’s extensive chassis electronics.
6
Priced around Rs 90 lakh (ex-showroom), Macan delivers excellent level of driver engagement, engineering polish and emotional appeal. If driving enjoyment matters more than outright practicality, the Macan remains in a class of its own.
