FAQs
Trending Questions on Jeep Cars - Answered by Autocar Experts
I am planning to buy a new car with an on-road budget of ₹40 lakh. I prefer sedans like the Octavia or Superb and can wait a year or two for the right car. What are my best options?
I want to buy a new SUV around ₹20 lakhs as my primary car. I really love the shape of the Thar Roxx. I want a capable, punchy engine that gives a feeling of great pickup. Mileage is not an issue for me. Most driving will be in the city. Can you suggest an SUV and variant (diesel/petrol)?
Yes, the Mahindra Thar Roxx has an iconic shape that resembles the Jeep Wrangler and has a lot of appeal. If mileage is not an issue, then go for the 2-litre petrol automatic, which is smooth, responsive and has a good pick-up.
You don’t need a 4x4 for the city, and hence the rear-wheel-drive MX3 variant will suit you best.
I have been using my Jeep Compass Limited manual edition for the last 7 years. My daily usage is 50 km a day in the city and occasional highway journeys. I want a robust SUV with an automatic diesel engine and advanced safety features. My budget is between 25-45 lakhs. Please advise.
Hi, I currently own a 2018 Baleno purchased in January 2019 and am now looking to upgrade. I am considering either a four-year-old Jeep Compass Petrol DCT or a demo Skoda Kylaq Prestige AT, both priced similarly. If I choose the Jeep, I plan to upgrade again before 2028 and get a bigger vehicle. My driving is mostly on highways, covering around 6,000-7,000 km annually. Please help me choose.
I am planning to buy a reliable SUV with the highest safety ratings. I have always loved the Jeep Compass, but my mind is now inclined toward the Tata Sierra after its launch. My other dilemma is that my parents want a 7-seater and I’m confused. I don’t mind a 7-seater, but I mostly drive on narrow roads in Chennai and think a mid-size SUV might be more suitable. Should I wait for any upcoming car? Kindly suggest a vehicle.
We agree, Tata Sierra will be a good fit for driving in narrow city lanes. While the crash test ratings are not out yet, going by Tata Motors’ recent track record, it is expected to score well on safety.
The Sierra is also well equipped, offers a spacious cabin, and comes with multiple powertrain options. The one to go for is the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, which is a refined unit.
The Jeep Compass currently on sale in India has not received any significant updates in recent times. As a result, the interior now feels dated, especially when viewed alongside newer rivals.
I currently own a 2018 Jeep Compass 2.0 diesel manual. I am now looking for a comfortable petrol or hybrid automatic SUV that can match the driving dynamics of the Compass. I drive around 30 km daily in the city and love driving. Please suggest suitable options.
I need a fun-to-drive car, mostly for highways and long drives. We take one to two long drives (400-1000) monthly. Budget of 30to 40 lakhs. Looking for ICE due to EV charging issues.
I am planning to upgrade from an XUV700 to a Jeep Compass. Will it truly be an upgrade, and does it make sense? Is it worth it?
Moving to a Jeep Compass from an Mahindra XUV 700 will definitely not be an upgrade. The XUV 700 is more powerful, better equipped, a lot more spacious and practical and nicer to drive.
The only area where the Compass has an advantage is while off-roading where the suspension performs well and the dimensions help traverse tough terrain. Apart from that one plus point, you will not find the Compass as an upgrade to the XUV 700.
Hi, I have a 2017 Ford EcoSport Diesel Titanium, which served me well with hardly any issues. Now, I want to upgrade to a new or used car (open to both) with a budget of 12-20 lakh. I’m confused between the new or used Toyota Hyryder Hybrid, Tata Sierra, new Seltos, Thar Roxx petrol auto, or new/used Honda Elevate ZX CVT. I recently test-drove a used 2023 Jeep Compass S petrol auto, which I liked, but petrol is discontinued, and it’s only E10 compliant. What do you suggest, wait or buy now?
Hi team, I am planning to buy a new car next year. I currently own a Kia Sonet GTX Plus and now want to move to a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder engine option. My budget is around ₹30 to 35 lakh maximum. I want strong performance, a good suspension setup, good handling and, most importantly, comfort for rear passengers and long drives. Kindly suggest which SUVs fit my budget. I have shortlisted the Jeep Compass Model S for its 4x4 option and the Mahindra XUV700 for its AWD option. I am open to other suggestions as well.
