Honda City FAQs

The Honda City is mainly for buyers who want a good amount of interior space, comfort and fuel efficiency without sacrificing the fun-to-drive factor.

You only need to go for the top-spec City hybrid in case you need the Low Speed Follow and 360-degree camera functions of the Level 2 ADAS, or if you cover long distances regularly.

For most buyers, the City petrol with the CVT gearbox would be preferable as it offers decent mileage and good performance.

The Honda City is missing a full-digital driver's display and powered front seats, both of which rivals like the Hyundai Verna and Volkswagen Virtus get.

The base manual variant of the 2026 Honda City has a price that's comparable to the pre-facelift model. The most affordable CVT variant is pricier by Rs 20,000, and the top end hybrid variant is costlier by Rs 1 lakh.

The Honda City hybrid (e:HEV) variant is only worth buying if you drive long distances frequently, and want features like an electronic parking brake with auto-hold and the 'Low Speed Follow' function of the adaptive cruise control system.

The V trim with the CVT automatic gearbox comes across as the best value-for-money City variant as it offers usable conveniences like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connect car tech, ADAS, and remote engine start.

At 506 litres, the Honda City’s boot is smaller than that of the Hyundai Verna, which has a capacity of 528 litres. It’s also smaller than the Skoda Slavia’s and Volkswagen Virtus’s, both of which come with 521-litre cargo capacity.

The petrol-only variants of the Honda City have a slightly lower ARAI-claimed mileage when compared to segment rivals like the Hyundai Verna and Skoda Slavia. However, the City hybrid's claimed mileage is far higher than its rivals.

With a claimed mileage of 17.97kpl, CVT variants offer the highest fuel economy among all the petrol-powered versions of the Honda City. Meanwhile, manual variants of the City have a claimed mileage of 17.77kpl.

Depending on your location and banking partner, the base SV MT variant of the Honda City has an EMI of Rs 26,571. This amount takes into account a loan tenure of five years, 10 percent downpayment, and an interest rate of 9 percent.

Colours like Lunar Silver Metallic, Meteoroid Gray Metallic and Radiant Red Metallic are all standard colours on the Honda City. However, shades like Platinum White Pearl, Obsidian Blue Pearl and Crystal Black Pearl cost Rs 8,000 over and above the car’s ex-showroom price.
