The Citroen C5 Aircross is the halo model that introduced the French brand to India. It's a large, five-seat SUV that currently sits between rivals like the Skoda Karoq and Hyundai Tucson, and larger more expensive models like the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace and Toyota Fortuner. In true French fashion, it features quirky styling, inside and out, and there is a big focus on space and comfort. The C5 Aircross is offered with a single powertrain at launch - a 2.0-litre diesel mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, with power sent to the front wheels only.

The Citroen C5 Aircross sets out with a simple brief of delivering comfort wrapped in healthy layers of French flair, and it delivers on that in spades. It truly looks nothing close to any other SUV around with its eye catching design elements, and the interior too is full of quirks and interesting design choices. It's the SUV to buy if you want to stand out. It might not score as well in some traditional senses - like with its equipment list, or in the area of driving pleasure. Instead it's smooth, refined, responsive and easy to drive. It also rides incredibly well, which should be a boon on Indian roads.
