Volvo is likely to launch two of its globally available EVs in India in 2026: the EX90 SUV and the ES90 sedan. In 2025, the brand launched a facelift for its combustion-powered flagship, the XC90, followed by the XC60 facelift and the EX30 eSUV. The EVs slated to join the line-up next year would serve as Volvo’s flagship electric offerings in India.
- Both upcoming EVs are expected to feature the same battery pack
- These launches are likely to happen by the third quarter of 2026
EX90
Launch: by Q3 2026; expected price: Rs 1.5 crore; battery: 92-106kWh

The EX90 electric SUV is set to arrive in India next year, debuting a new 800V architecture. It comes in single-motor RWD, twin-motor AWD and AWD Performance variants rated at 565km, 608km and 602km, respectively. However, which of these will come to India is currently unclear. True to Volvo form, the styling is clean and understated, while the cabin takes a minimalist approach. The EV offers Level 2 ADAS, but its LiDAR-based sensor suite can support far higher levels of autonomy in the future.
ES90
Launch: by Q3 2026; expected price: Rs 1.2 crore; battery: 92-106kWh

Volvo will also bring the ES90 electric sedan to India to take on the BMW i5. Built on the new SPA2 platform, it packs an 800V electrical system that allows up to 350kW fast charging – good enough to add about 300km in just 10 minutes. The 106kWh battery delivers a WLTP range of around 700km. Its design borrows heavily from the EX90, complete with ‘Thor’s hammer’ LED headlights, a closed grille and a roof-mounted LiDAR hump. Inside, there’s a 14.5-inch portrait touchscreen with 5G and OTA updates, a 25-speaker Bowers & Wilkins system and a 424-litre boot that’s expandable to 733 litres.
All prices are ex-showroom, India.
