The Toyota Innova Crysta, which was reintroduced earlier this year, still commands a waiting period of up to nine months at most locations. Now available as a diesel-manual and in four variants only, the MPV still remains a favourite among private and commercial buyers.

  2. No diesel automatic on offer
  3. Still in demand for private and fleet usage

Toyota Innova Crysta waiting period, delivery details

The Toyota Innova Crysta was reintroduced in March this year, and in the January-June 2023 period, 14,900 units were sold, which averages to around 2,500 units a month. With the 2023 update, Toyota introduced the BS6 Stage 2-compliant engine and discontinued the diesel-automatic option on the Crysta in order to direct private buyers towards the newer and more advanced automatic-only Innova Hycross. Dealer sources tell us that while a handful of customers have moved to the Hycross since this development, a majority of buyers, especially those who are chauffeur-driven, still prefer the Crysta, which essentially is a seven-year-old vehicle.

Toyota Innova Hycross waiting period stretches to one year

Also, while the more fuel-efficient Innova Hycross petrol-hybrid has found its place in the fleet market, the Innova Crysta continues to be one of the favourites. In order to reduce the high order backlog, Toyota added a third shift at its manufacturing plant, which, according to dealers, has helped them deliver more cars than before.

Toyota Innova Crysta prices and other details

The 2023 Innova Crysta is sold in four variants, but the most popular among buyers are the GX and VX variants, both having waiting periods of around nine months at all outlets.

As far as powertrain options go, the Innova Crysta comes with a single 2.4-litre diesel engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. This engine is good for 150hp and 343Nm of torque. Prices for the Innova Crysta currently range from Rs 20 lakh for the lower-spec GX variant going up to Rs 26.05 lakh for the top-spec ZX variant.
