Land Rover has updated the Range Rover Evoque for 2023, bringing in a fresh interior inspired by the full-size Range Rover, as well as a simpler trim line-up. The headlining change for the updated SUV is a totally revised dashboard that gets rid of physical controls and brings in a new-look, larger touch screen, and better electric-only range for the hybrid variants.

Range Rover Evoque gets new interior
All basic functions, including climate controls, are now integrated into a new 11.4-inch curved touchscreen unit running JLR’s latest-generation Pivi Pro interface that’s also shared with the Land Rover Discovery Sport and the Range Rover Velar. This has led to a complete redesign of the dashboard, which now sports a far cleaner look. The panel with rotary dials for the HVAC controls on the previous model have now made way for a concealed storage area also featuring a wireless charging pad. There’s also a new gear lever on the redesigned centre console.
A sidebar on either end of the touchscreen provides access to all the critical functions at all times, allowing 80 percent of tasks to be performed within two taps, says JLR. Amazon Alexa voice control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto now come equipped as standard for better connectivity and it also features Wifi with a data plan, which means, the SUV can update over the air, eliminating the need to take it to a dealer to install new software. A remote app is also available, allowing remote locking and unlocking, interior pre-conditioning and scheduled charges (for plug-in hybrid models).
Alongside the digital upgrades, the Evoque now gets a new PM2.5 air purification system (as part of the Comfort Pack) and a variety of non-leather upholstery options, such as Kvadrat wool. This material is 58 percent lighter than leather, said JLR, but is as robust, having passed 60,000 cycles of abrasion testing that simulate a decade of wear.

There are also very subtle cosmetic changes on the outside. The internals of the grille have been redesigned and the LED Daytime Running Lamps in the Pixel LED headlights have also been revised. Land Rover has also introduced new colour options with the Evoque.
Range Rover Evoque powertrain and line-up
With the interior overhaul, the Evoque also gets a revised powertrain line-up in markets abroad. Excluding the entry-level D165 diesel with a manual gearbox, all Evoques are now electrified, being either 48V mild hybrids or plug-in hybrids.
A new battery chemistry means the P300e PHEV’s official electric-only range has risen from 61km to 63km. This translates to a real-world range of up to 48km as per JLR. The P300e also has DC charging capabilities, meaning a top-up takes 30 minutes using a 50kW charger. Using a 7kW AC charger (such as a home wallbox), the 14.9kWh battery takes around two hours to recharge.
The remaining powertrains – the D165 and D200 diesel engines, plus the P200 and P250 petrol units – are all 48V mild hybrids with automatic gearboxes. The trim line-up has been simplified to just four levels: S, Dynamic SE, Dynamic HSE and Autobiography.
Range Rover Evoque India launch
JLR has yet to officially confirm when deliveries of the new Evoque will begin globally, but says production will scale up when it can get confidence of supply. Currently, the Range Rover is priced from Rs 72.09 lakh (ex-showroom) in India, and is locally assembled. There’s, however, no news on when this update could make it to the Evoque in India.
