Nissan has launched the X-Trail SUV in India at Rs 49.92 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The three-row SUV is being brought here as a full import. Nissan offers a 3-year/ 1 lakh km warranty as standard with the X-Trail, along with three years of free roadside assistance.

Nissan X-Trail powertrain, specs

The Nissan X-Trail is powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that comes with a 12V mild-hybrid system, producing 163hp and 300Nm. The powertrain is paired with a shift-by-wire CVT auto gearbox that is said to have negligible rubberband effect. It features Nissan’s patented variable compression technology that alters the compression ratio to optimise either performance or fuel efficiency, depending on the need.

Nissan X-Trail features, safety

The features on offer with the X-Trail include a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver's display, wireless smartphone charger, keyless entry and go, drive modes, electronic parking brake with auto-hold function and cruise control. The X-Trail gets a 7-seater configuration as standard. The second row has a 40/20/40 split-folding, sliding and reclining functions, while the third row gets 50/50 split-folding and reclining functions.

On the safety front, it gets seven airbags, automatic wipers, ABS with EBD, traction control, limited-slip differential, hill-start assist, and front parking sensors.

Nissan X-Trail rivals

The X-Trail will rival premium 7-seater SUVs such as the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian as well as the MG Gloster. While the Meridian and Gloster are set to receive a facelift later this year, the Kodiaq will get a generational update in 2025.
