Maserati MCPura India launch

Maserati India has launched the MCPura and MCPura Cielo convertible today at Rs 4.12 crore and Rs 5.12 crore, respectively, just 3 months after the model’s global debut. Said to be an evolution of the Maserati MC20 supercar, the MCPura was revealed in July at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

  1. Both get a 630hp 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engine
  2. New AI Aqua Rainbow colour introduced on the MCPura and Cielo

Maserati MCPura India details

India-spec MCPura and MCPura Cielo are identical to the international model

In terms of its engine, specifications and other metrics, the India-spec Maserati MCPura and MCPura Cielo are identical to the model on sale abroad. These mid-engined supercars are powered by the brand’s ubiquitous 3.0-litre turbo-petrol V6, which makes 630hp and 720Nm of torque. Maserati claims a 0-100kph time of 2.9 seconds for the coupe.

Interestingly, the MCPura Cielo is priced at Rs 19 lakh less than the MC20 Cielo, which has been available in India since May this year.

Design is more aggressive than the MC20

Compared to the MC20, the MCPura sports more aggressive and aero-enhancing design changes, courtesy of long-standing race car firm Dallara, which fine-tuned its aerodynamic efficiency. The Italian brand says that there is a vivid colour palette specifically designed for the car, but the highlight colour is called AI Aqua Rainbow, which changes colour in the sun to produce a rainbow-like effect. The coupe gets a matte finish while the convertible has a glossy one.

Among the highlights of the new Maserati supercar are the butterfly wing doors, carbon fibre monocoque chassis and retractable glass roof for the convertible version. Maserati says the kerb weight is 1,500kg for the coupe.

Interior is similar to the MC20

Highlights of the MCPura’s interior include the Alcantara seats with laser-etching that creates a 3D effect and contrasting interior elements – the MCPura coupe has glossy detailing while the Cielo convertible has matte.
