Ferrari owners and enthusiasts in India are in for a treat as the Italian supercar maker has lined up events to mark its 70th anniversary. Celebrations are set to kick off in Delhi on December 10, 2017, in an event that will see the city’s Ferraris congregate at the Claridges Hotel before being driven through the Capital’s streets and onwards to the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida. A track session has been planned to give owners a chance to let their stallions loose on the 5.1km long race track. Around 20 Ferraris are expected to be part of the Delhi event.

The power-packed revelry will then come to Mumbai on December 17. A convoy of 25-30 Prancing Horses are expected to pass the city’s key landmarks such as the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, Haji Ali and Marine Drive. It is understood that the Ferrari 70th Anniversary Parade in Mumbai will include Ferrari owners from across the country, with some travelling from Bengaluru and Delhi to be part of the parade. The supercar maker will announce further event details at a press meet on December 13.

Ferrari's Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer, Enrico Galliera, believes the 70th anniversary of Ferrari is a great opportunity to not only to look into the future but also to stop and look back. Talking to Autocar India earlier this year about the celebrations, Galliera said, "This anniversary is a great opportunity to look back at our history and share with our clients. We are having a big event in every country, a celebration that will allow our clients and collectors to join us in sharing the passion."

The highlight of Ferrari's 70th Anniversary celebrations around the globe was the one that took place in Maranello earlier this year in September, with an event featuring a gathering of cars spanning seven decades. The events included an auction of Ferrari machinery and paraphernalia.

We at Autocar India celebrated 70 years of Ferrari with a full-blown road test of the 488 GTB as part of our anniversary issue.

After a hiatus, Ferrari returned to the Indian market in January 2015 and officially announced two new dealers, Navnit Motors in Mumbai and Select Cars in Delhi. It currently sells the 812 Superfast, GTC4Lusso, GTC4Lusso T, 488 Spider, 488 GTB and the California T in the country.
