BYD first revealed the mid-lifecycle update for the Atto 3 with a refreshed exterior in February 2025, but at the time, technical specifications were kept under wraps. Nearly a year on, the Chinese carmaker has now disclosed the same and also added a new ‘Evo’ suffix to the electric SUV. The BYD Atto 3 Evo upgrades to a larger battery pack, switches from a front-wheel-drive layout to a rear one and adds an all-wheel-drive option.
- 449hp AWD version’s claimed 0-100kph time is 3.9 seconds
- New 74.8kWh battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 25 minutes
- BYD India is yet to reveal Atto 3 Evo’s launch date
BYD Atto 3 Evo details
470-510km WLTP range
The battery size has grown from 60.5kWh to 74.8kWh and the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) range is 510km, 92km up from 418km. The Atto 3 Evo’s repositioned motor makes 313hp and 380Nm, an increase of 109hp and 70Nm over the older FWD unit, and this also leads to a 1.8-second faster 0-100kph dash at 5.5 seconds (claimed); the top speed is 180kph.

The wilder Atto 3 Evo AWD, while using the same battery pack, makes 449hp and 560Nm, capable of hitting the 100kph mark from rest in just 3.9 seconds and topping out at 200kph. The WLTP-certified single-charge range, however, takes a hit here at 470km.
400V to 800V upgrade
The Atto 3 also moves from a 400V to an 800V electrical architecture, increasing its peak charging rate from 88kW to 220kW. Charging time has also improved, despite the battery being larger. Earlier, it took 29 minutes to go from 30 to 80 percent. Now, it takes 25 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 percent. The new battery also supports vehicle-to-load or V2L functionality, allowing it to power external devices at up to 3kW.

Shifting the motor has also allowed BYD to switch to a new multi-link suspension design, with five links instead of four. The brand claims this improves handling. The revised layout has freed up 50 litres of additional boot space, taking total capacity to 490 litres. There is now also a 101-litre frunk under the bonnet.
Updated software for screens

Inside, the gear selector has been relocated to a steering column-mounted stalk. The 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and the 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen continue but now run updated software.
