Audi has confirmed that it will launch the RS Q8 facelift in India on February 17. There's also a more powerful RS Q8 Performance variant on sale in the UK, and it remains to be seen which of the two comes here. Notably, the 2025 RS Q8 Performance holds the title of being the quickest production SUV yet around the Nurburgring, showcasing its track-focused credentials.

  1. Audi currently sells the standard Q8 SUV in the country
  2. Rivals the Lamborghini Urus SE, Porsche Cayenne GTS SUVs

Although not much seems to have changed over the previous RS Q8, the exterior design is bolder than the standard Q8. The refreshed black grille with a 3D honeycomb pattern and carbon-fibre elements on the front lip and air vents give it an aggressive look. For illumination, Audi has added LED Matrix headlights and OLED tail-lights. The car comes with 22-inch alloy wheels as standard, but 23 inchers are available as an option. Audi has not yet commented on offering the larger wheels.

The RS Q8 Performance pictured above gets Sport Seats Plus – they offer enhanced bolstering and comfort – with Race-Tex upholstery, and the layout is focused around the driver. The dual-screen centre console allows easy access to RS drive modes, and there’s four-zone climate control on offer.

Audi RS Q8 facelift engine specs, 0-100kph time

The range-topping Performance trim is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that delivers 640hp and 850Nm of torque, 40hp and 50Nm more than the regular RS Q8 SUV. This mill allows the RS Q8 Performance to accelerate from 0-100kph in 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of over 305kph. The integration of a 48V mild-hybrid system further boosts acceleration. For reference, the standard Audi Q8 comes with a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that puts out 340hp and 500Nm.

Active roll stabilisation, all-wheel steering, adaptive air suspension and the new Quattro sport differential work to reduce body roll or understeer. For a detailed report on the SUV’s performance, click here.

Audi RS Q8 facelift rivals, price expectations

The Audi RS Q8 Performance competes with high-performance SUVs like the Lamborghini Urus SE and Porsche Cayenne GTS in India. Considering the Audi Q8's Rs 1.17 crore price tag (without options), the German carmaker may price the RS Q8 for around Rs 2.5 crore.
