Audi and SAIC Motor’s sub-brand for China, AUDI, has fully revealed the E7X SUV at Auto China 2026, sharing its powertrain, specifications and interior design. The exterior of this China-exclusive offering, which will launch in the second quarter (Q2) of 2026, was first unveiled in December 2025.

AUDI has revealed that the eSUV will be available with two powertrains: a rear-wheel-drive version producing 408hp and 500Nm and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) version with a system output of 680hp and 800Nm. The AWD iteration, AUDI says, “instantly adapts to road conditions for unrivalled traction in all scenarios” and has a claimed 0-100kph time of 3.9 seconds.

Built on a 900-volt architecture, the AUDI E7X will be offered with a choice of 100kWh and 109kWh battery packs, with a claimed range of up to 751km (CLTC). The platform supports 4C fast charging, which essentially means that the charging rate is four times the battery capacity, enabling a claimed 429km range in 10 minutes.

The SUV will also have rear-wheel steering, Brembo brake calipers and an air suspension system.

The AUDI E7X’s dashboard features a 27-inch 4K curved panoramic display and a 3-spoke steering wheel with a mix of physical and touch-enabled buttons. The electric SUV is offered in 4- and 5-seat layouts, and all seats come with heating, ventilation and massage functions.

The backrests, reclinable up to 130 degrees, can be folded at the touch of a button, and the front seats recline up to 139.1 degrees for comfort when the vehicle is parked. The rear seats come equipped with convenience features such as powered leg rests on both sides and 6-way adjustable headrests. But the highlight is a 21.4-inch rear-seat entertainment screen, which deploys from the headliner and can be used to watch content or even play games via an attached console.

Other features include a 26-speaker Bose audio system with surround sound, including speakers on the front seat backrests (near the shoulder area) and rear seat headrests, an advanced AI-powered voice assistant system that can manage vehicle functions and a 7.2-litre fridge for rear-seat passengers. In terms of safety, AUDI has equipped it with 23 airbags, an ADAS suite with a lidar sensor and auto park assist with memory function.

Features a loop of over 1,500 LED lights and Matrix LED headlights

The AUDI E7X has a bold exterior design with vertically stacked Matrix LED headlights, connected by a loop of over 1,500 triangular LED lights surrounding the closed-off grille. The bumper features functional air intakes to cool the battery pack and internals.

It gets 22-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels, flush-type door handles and camera-based outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs). At the rear, the tail-lights mimic the design of the front LED daytime running lamps (DRLs), and a black bumper with a silver skid plate completes the look.

The AUDI E7X is China-exclusive and is therefore unlikely to arrive in India. It will be followed by a three-box electric sedan, which is due to debut in that market by 2027.
